About Christopher Stender

California-based immigration lawyer Christopher Stender has long been fascinated by other cultures. While an undergraduate, he spent a year abroad in Germany studying at the University of Würzburg, which was founded in 1402. He has since visited many other countries in Western and Eastern Europe, including France, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, among others. He has also traveled to Korea and explored the Americas, spending time in Costa Rica, Panama, Canada, and Mexico. Christopher Stender speaks both German and Spanish fluently.

In 2008, Christopher Stender founded Stender & Lappin, P.C., a law firm based in San Diego, California, that serves the needs of clients who have dealings with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Stender held the position of Assistant Chief Counsel in the San Diego District office of the INS and has focused on immigration law ever since. He brings over 20 years of experience to representing clients facing removal, deportation, or exclusion and bond proceedings. He also assists families seeking to reunite with loved ones and employers requiring United States visas for employees.

Christopher Stender is a graduate of the Syracuse University School of Law and the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. He is admitted to the State Bar associations of Connecticut, New York, and Arizona. Skilled at representing clients at the highest appellate levels of the federal court system, he has argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and brought cases before the United States Supreme Court. He is also admitted to practice before the First, Fifth, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Christopher Stender is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and an active supporter of the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project. He devotes his time to the Homeless Outreach Team, the Tijuana School Mission, and the Cesar Chavez Elementary School. Christopher Stender lives in San Diego, California, with his wife and four children.
